My entrepreneuer life has started more than 12 years ago, but first time I cant concentrate 100% for my job. I didnt post anything in social media, I didnt prepare my regulary newsletter. Ive checked only the news regarding Flood in Austria, Vienna and in my village, Rohrau. The whole province Lower-Austria / Niederösterreich was a disaster area. In my village, in lovely Rohrau (place of birth Josef & Michael Haydn) was rain more than 300l/m2.
Many houses were flooded, I was afraid to lose anything, what was important for me, photos, pictures or jewellery. This fear was not really about my life, but about my special personally memories and gifts, that follow my whole life.
Unfortunatly, some people had not only this feeling, but they really lost everthing. (in Austria 5 people died, 2400 person were evacuated, 76 helicopter rescue).
In Austria is the demage only for insurance companies are more than 1 billion Euro. So our daily life is staying over about our daily business and I would say today „People First, Business Second“.
Its a long time, I didnt know, should I send a newsletter about this very special situation or not. But now, by the Danube, the water situation is normalised, since yesterday in my village the road are open to public transportation, I can go with train to Vienna again.
As You know, from „Insury Lady 50.30.10“ I repeated my favorite poem at the end of the documentary film (from 48.50 min, incl. English translation).
One of famous Hungarian poet, Sandor Petöfi (1823-1849) written The whole sea has revolted
„Eternal heaven bear witness. Before all heaven’s fools: Though ships bob on the surface. And oceans run beneath us. It is the water rules.“
But I learned in this time, how important is Collaboration to solve the challenge. Collaboration with neighbors, with public autorithies, with firefighters to help by sandbag dumming. Our mayor sent to everbody every day a message about the status quo and to thank for everybody to helping to save our village, Rohrau.
As you know, our motto #MOI2025 was defined before flood situation but, Im sure now, that I decised right „Collaboration Drives Innovation“. Because, its sure together we are better than alone, not only in private but also in business life as well.
As Im writing this Newsletter, Im looking out of the window and see, that some weak swallows came to bird feed and try to be stronger for the long way to Africa.
I hope we can all gather strength to continue and take the next step, just like the swallows.
